How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is much different in that the cash transfers offloaded the medical debt burden that I had accumulated over the time. I am happy that I was able to treat my two sickler children with part of the cash transfers. I also purchased two oxen that I will use to till and plough my farm lands. In the past, I did not have money on standby that could enable me buy medicines whenever they could fall sick.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done well to send the cash transfers that helped me especially in the treatment of my children. Above all, GiveDirectly has only done great things for me.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer to purchase an ox and clear my children's school fees. I also spent part of the cash transfer on treating and buying medicine for my anaemic children.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have now acquired household items that I had been lacking like utensils, mattress and a bull. I used to sell part of my agricultural produce for ploughing but now there is already a sign of life since I have already bought a bull, my self esteem has been boosted.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first cash transfer, I felt happy. It had been difficult for me to get even UGX 3,000 in a single day. But this was miraculous to me because, I had never received such an amount of money.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 750,000 for buying a bull. I bought a mattress worth UGX 120,000 in order to improve on my living conditions, I lent my neighbour UGX 300,000 in exchange for an acre of land, Utensils costed UGX 180,000 while UGX 45,000 was spent on clothes. UGx 115,000 was spent on food and the balance of UGX 190,000 has been saved for the future uncertainties.
