How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My standards of living have improved recently because I have managed to repossess my land which I used to acquire a loan for taking me to hospital when I was hit with a strange disease which made my legs swell. I was helpless to extent that, they could carry me outside to bath, short and long calls. Secondly, I have used these transfers to hire more farmland especially in the swamp which I have ventured into rice growing to generate income. Finally, these transfer enabled me enroll my child into secondary education. Previously, I owned a very small portion of land which could not produce enough crops to sustain my family. In addition, without these transfer I could have managed to take my child to school because I did not have any money to pay school fees.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done wonders in my life in that, I have managed to pay school fees, hire farm land, buy a solar and do cultivation. On the other hand, I haven't noticed anything wrong done by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my transfer on paying fees, Hire farm land, bought solar and pay farm labour.
