Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so grateful the moment when I received my cash transfer..I celebrated with my family since in my whole life I have never received such a huge sum of money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these payments is that I will finally be able to sleep in a house with iron sheets which was not the case before..I am so grateful as I have always desired my family to sleep in such kind of a house.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my cash transfer, I bought building materials such as iron sheets and timber..I am going to use these iron sheets on improving the roof of my house since It is already built. I then bought 2 bags of fertiliser which I intend on applying in my maize field inorder to increase growth and boost fertility. Lastly, I bought livestock such as goats which I will be raising outside the house...I then saved the other part of the money so that I can be using it in purchasing other needed stuff at home.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
When I receive the money, I will buy clothes for my children. Some of the money will be used to boost my husband's business of selling irish potatoes. He buys and resells in Salima. Another amount will be used to buy fertilizer and a goat.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The closing school ceremony is always a joyous moment for us. My children are doing well in school. We showered them with money at school and had a nice meal here at home.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge I am facing is having multiple sources of income. I'd like to have livestock that I can sell when need arises and I get helped. We have food as of now,, I have 8 bags of maize and 2 bags of groundnuts in the house. But when that runs out, I'll have to start buying. Say If I had goats, I'd just sell some to cushion my food insecurity. So that's my current challenge.
