Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 8am. When I went to where we usually go to get network to check my phone as usually. There was a message confirming that I have received money from GiveDirectly. I felt so happy because I have never received such amount of money before in my entire life. I immediately inform my family members and everyone celebrated with joy. It was one of the best morning we have ever had. My fists and important thing was to go pay my children school fees in secondary school and improve my business. This was always my wish. I will go to withdrew the money and plan how to improve the business.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I will be able to pay school fees for my two children in secondary School. This was the biggest challenge that I had. My children used to be sent home and this was so stressful. I had no extra money to pay school fees. I depend on small scale farming and table business in the village. Because of the recurring basic needs I was not able to save money for their school fees. When I received the transfer from GiveDirectly I felt so happy. I will now pay my children balances and my children will be able to study. I have peace of mind to do other activities at home. I no longer stress up like before. GiveDirectly has changed our living standards. We are able go educate our children and make them happy. I am so grateful for the support.

I will spent half of the money to pay school fees for my children in their secondary school.This was one of my main focus because my children was sent home and this was so demoralizing and stressful. My children will now go back to school because I can now pay their fees . I will use some amount to improve my business. The rest will go for food.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I don't have money. We are currently facing hardship. Since my children father left me, things have been difficult. I had to leave Monrovia and come to my village to live. The spouse that I have here is a gold miner and he has to dive under water to dig gravel, bring it on shore and we wash it to get gold and sell to survive.
