How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I'm now constructing a permanent house. Currently, I stay in an old thatched house which is a haven for rats that have always destroyed our clothes and eaten our feet. In addition, these rats harbour lice that feast on our blood and deny us peaceful sleep. Previously, I didn't have the money to commence with the construction of the permanent house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving the poor people in my community unconditional cash transfers. This has improved their lives since they were able to solve diverse challenges they had. Personally, I started the construction of a permanent house. According to me, there is nothing bad that GiveDirectly has been done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy iron sheets worth UGX 1608000 and the balance on transport.
