How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now because I'm sleeping in a iron roofed house which I constructed using the transfers. Secondly I live a happy life because I no long have to look for grass for renovating my grass thatched hut. Previously, I used to sleep in a leaky grass thatched house that left my property damaged during rainy season.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly in my opinion has done well send me unconditional cash which I have used to construct a permanent house that I never owned before getting the transfer. In my community, Everyone is praising GiveDirectly for the good job it has done in the village in terms of sending cash directly to us and let us plan by ourselves how to spend it. People have built houses, Livestock and household items using their transfers. In my view, GiveDirectly did everything well that's why everyone is happy about the program.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
Since I had started the construction of a iron roofed house with the first transfer, I used Ugx 1300000 for completing the house. These comprised of plastering, Flooring and installing windows and doors. The remaining ugx 332000 I used it for purchasing household items like mattress, bed and transport.
