How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goal is to help myself by building my house. I am a widow with children and this will greatly help me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly is good at helping people like us who dont have hand to help themselves. Their cash delivery method is doing so well for us because the money comes directly to us. I don't see anything Givedirectly is not doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have send for someone to saw my planks so I can start building my house. Right now I have saved my money while I wait the person to come. I will spe d it on workmanship and gasoline.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to build a new house with this transfer. I have lived in a thatch house for a very long time and if I don't change that with this transfer then it might aswell never change.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I'll specially like to say a big thank you to GiveDirectly. Changing our lives with these transfers is more than enough well done. Nobody including myself can point at anything GiveDirectly is not doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to pay saw men to supply me with wood for my house project. The remaining will go towards the initial payment for the contractors who will be working on the house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was a moment of joy when I received the transfer alert. I cried tears of joy because it was during the mourning of my late husband who just passed on that I received this money. It came right on time and cheered me up.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My husband had been sick for some years before sadly passing on. Prior to his death, the community youth joined hands and made a little farm for us free of charge to eat from and earn some money. My husband died from the illness and it was that little farm that has been sustaining my family until I started receiving transfers from GiveDirectly. Now I will own a big house, have enough funds to cultivate a bigger farm and send my children to school. I no longer depend on people to feel pity for me and help me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been living in my little mud hut for over 9 years with so many cracks and a leaking roof. With this transfer, I'm going to build a new home for me and my children to be comfortable. That is my utmost priority, to give my children a decent sleeping place.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am a widow who live in this town with my children. I was married to my late husband who brought me to this town 1997. All along we live happy together with our children;and we build this mud house you are seeing today. My husband took sick and die, leaving me in this house ;but the house is old. I am not working but we had farms that we all planted together before his death. Our children are all out of school this year because of the situation I am going through. I want to send all of the children back to school, but no money; the house is very old ,now is seriously leaking. I try discussing this with our big son for us to start selling some of the farm products and save money for the building project. Look at today;I am glad that God heard my cry and send Give Directly here today. I will now use this money to build a new house and start up a mini business to enable the children get back in school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have been a woman grieve in the past months because I lost my husband and nothing ever brought smile to me. Today is another day of turning my greive into laughter. This news is a happy news and I know all will be well.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I want money that just all. If the money is available and all these things is going as planned I will be a very happy widow and I know wherever my husband soul is he will be very happy. I really need money. Anything one do in life is supported by money.
