How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I was doing business and entrusted my girlfriend with the entire money while in the bush burning charcoal, but she took the money and business and went her way. I was completely frustrated and left almost to commit suicide. It's through God almighty I was able to recovered and decided not to worry until Givedirectly came in my town and I was selected as one of the successful recipients. Therefore, My goal is to improve my house and buy more goods to start my business.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly is doing well especially with the way they are helping people to leave from poverty. The aspect of them, I love most is the cash that they give to people and allow them to decide on how to use their money.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Having gone through a difficult moment and was bless to form part of Givedirectly program, I bought few bags of cement and pay workmanship for the renovation of my house. I later used the balance money to purchase enough goods for my business.

Yes, I have new goal for this second transfer. I used the first money to renovate my shop and now I'm going use the second money to buy assorted goods for business.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
All of the work GiveDirectly has done are great. To give us money that we didn't work for is more than good. I have not heard anything negative about her work.

Although I have not yet withdraw my second transfer. But, I'm intending to buy goods for my shop as soon as possible.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I got the information early one morning when someone came running into the town that they have received their transfer message. By 10am i went on the hill near Mecca to check mine. I was too excited because i really wanted to complete my shop and my prayers have being answered, i feel so very happy about the money i receivef. May God bless GiveDirectly for the smile they put on my face.

Ive seen some changes because now i have money to solve most of my problems.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I established a business about four years ago, but due to its size, I have not been able to earn enough to meet my basic needs. I have had the desire to expand it but due to financial constraints, I have not been able to do so. Receiving this money means expanding my already established business. I intend to use this cash transfer to buy more goods for my business which will enable me to earn more to support myself and my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What brought me joy and happiness in the last six months is the presence of GiveDirectly within my community. For the past three years, I have been struggling to expand my business but I have not been able to accomplish it due to financial constraints. I requested assistance from few family members and friends but no one has come to my aid. I was so excited when I heard about GiveDirectly and the kind of assistance they provide. I strongly believe that GiveDirectly can help me achieve my goal.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The greatest challenge that I am currently facing is acquiring an education. I dropped out of school about ten years ago because my father who was funding my education passed out. There was no one within my family who was financially stable to sponsor my education. I feel very embarrassed that at my age I can not read and write. I have had the intention of enrolling into a vocational training program because I believe that I will be able to secure a better job opportunity with the knowledge that I will acquire but I have not had the financial strength to do so.
