How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
There is really a big difference in my life currently compared to the last four months. My small piece of land which I used to cultivate using hand tools is now under machinery which is so impressive since my work has been made easier. I used to borrow a lot form the village which is now a story of the past. I am nowadays able to purchase all the required household goods; something which was so hard for me in the past. Thanks to GiveDirectly for making my life smoother and easier by giving us the monthly transfer.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Despite the payment of school fees being a continuous process, I also have a new plan to purchase three sheep. This has been my long term thought which I have been wishing to accomplish. This plan will at least help me in growing the number of sheep which I will then sell in the later days to purchase a cow.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the past, before I started receiving the transfer from GiveDirectly, a lot of things were bothering me since they needed a lot of finances. Top in the list was payment of school fees for my son. I would do a lot of casual works over long hours of the days so that I can get paid. In the last four months, the burden has been less and I have been able to clear muy son's school fees in time. This has relieved me and made even other things like ensuring the supply of enough foodstuff to the family easier. This relief to me has been the biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my expectation is that I would have bought the three sheep I am planning to purchase at the moment.

My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I no longer struggle so much to do much of the casual jobs like how I used to do before, I have devoted some of my time on my own farm and I no longer buy most of the foodstuff. I'm able to save some money for the school fees for my children.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have a new goal for the next four months because I'm still paying off the school fees for my children to make sure that they are at school every time and this will result in a good performance.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I pay school fees for my children on time. They are no longer sent home to collect school fees, this was wasting much of their time and the performance was very bad. Nowadays they spend most of the time in school and they do assignments and attend all lesson and it has resulted in good performance. Before I could do casual jobs in order to get the money for school fees, the little amount I could get was not even enough to meet the basic needs and also pay for them on time. I'm so happy for the support it has really boosted me in my daily activities and also improve our living standard.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I am able to buy quality seeds and fertilizers. In the past , I used to plant poor quality seeds and this would lead to poor harvests. This could make me to struggle a lot to buy food for my family from the little money I get from casual jobs. I used my transfers to buy food and also quality farm inputs and this will ensure good harvests hence adequate food supply for the family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal for the next four months is to build an iron roofed kitchen. This is because currently I am living in a grass- thatched house and the roof is leaking during the rainy season. This is not good for my young grand children since it is very cold and can be infected with diseases such as flu during the cold season. Building an iron-roofed house will ensure that my grandchildren are always healthy even during the cold season.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that in the past I was not able to buy farm inputs such as fertilizers and hybrid seeds and thus low yields and poor food production. My family used to eat little food but now I planted hybrid seeds and I am sure that I will get a good harvest and my family will have enough food.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will be able to get some money from table banking and I will use it to buy two sheep. This is because currently, I am depending only on the money I get from table banking to pay the school fees. I will be able to sell these sheep in future and pay school fees for my son. Maize in my farm will be ready for harvest after this period and my family will have enough food and I will sell the surplus to pay school fees.
