How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been saving my transfer from the initial stage. My dream has been to start a new motorbike business. I started to save all my transfers and my new goal is to purchase a new bike and put it on traffic for commercial purpose especially carrying people to and from the town. This will help me generate more income for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has done well for us. We are extremely greatful to them for the unconditional cash transfer which has helped many people to be self dependent and I think they have done well to empowered us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Given the state of the season now, I am concentrating on purchasing my bike after the rainy season meaning that my transfer will be use to purchase a bike for commercial purpose.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes, I was plang to burn firewood, but since the money arrived, I have decided to purchase bike. This is exactly how I developed a new goal upon receiving my transfer from Givedirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly is doing well and there's nothing yet to say concerning being bad.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The farming work is too hard. I was looking for another alternative, but the only options was to burn firewood or cut palm which are our major source of income. I am saving my initial transfer until the full completion of all transfer, and I will purchase a brand new motorbike for commercial purpose.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was up the hill boiling tea at my brother's house one morning and I felt my phone vibrating in my hands. I decided to check my phone to see if it was my transfer that GiveDirectly has sent. As soon as I unlock my phone I saw the transfer in my message inbox. However, due to the hardship we go through to earn money on our own, I was very happy that whole day because it has been a long time I stopped earning such a huge sum of money and I needed money to further my education.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
At first, I have been farming to sustain myself. I sometimes find it difficult because I have to work hard but now I'm grateful to GiveDirectly for the level of support because the workload has reduced and I'm saving my transfer to further my education.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I'm successful to receive transfer from Givedirectly, I will use so of the money to pay my tuition fees and use the balance to start a business which I have been struggling to do. Eventhough I make garden to sustain myself, the money I earn from the garden isn't enough to pay my tuition fees and start a business. I have to drop out of school because of that. Since my father passed out, I don't have anyone to take care of me.im doing everything for myself.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what has brought me joy or happiness is being well and healthy. Although I'm struggling to survive, but I'm grateful to God for my life because, since the beginning of this year I haven't been to hospital or in any trouble.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I'm facing is money. I want to go to school and start a business which I will earn money from to sustain myself but there's no money. Eventhough I make garden to sustain myself, the money I earn from the garden isn't enough to pay tuition fees and start a business. Right now I'm not going to school because I don't have money to pay my fees and non of my relatives want to help me since my father died. I will really appreciate any help from Givedirectly to improve my living conditions.
