How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have lived in this house for over decades now. I have never thought of building a new one because finance has been my major problem. My new goal after recieving this transfer is to build a new house. Thank God for GiveDirectly coming to my community and having me as one of their beneficiaries. I am so happy that I am on this program. This is the first time ever in my life to receive such an amount of money free.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
There are many things GiveDirectly is doing well. To be specific, in my opinion GiveDirectly looks for the hard to reach poor communities to carry help. It does not discriminate. GiveDirectly treats all households equal. Most of all the trainings that the employees undergo before coming to the communities is admirable.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I did spend my most recent transfers on zinc and gas. I bought four bundles of zinc and six gallons of gas. The gas will be used to saw planks that will be used to roof my house. I have never thought of recieving this amount of money free from anybody or organization. I greatful for this opportunity, and I am going to make a good use of it.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
At my age I should have been enjoying a better life, but I have been unable due to lack of education and poverty. I have been stuck out in this village and living in a house that I don't feel happy living in. As I wait on this money from GiveDirectly, I have planned to complete my house project and put zinc on yhe roof instead of thatch. As mentioned earlier, I didn't had the opportunity to go to school and due to lack of education I feel left behind in the society, most especially after the death of my husband. I'm also planning to send my children to school because when they are educated they will be a great help to me in my old age.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Seeing my children and grandchildren well and happy and been part of GiveDirectly program is a source of joy for me every evening, when we are discussing the blessings as a family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
As a old woman I worry every day about the well being of my children and grandchildren. I always pay for them to live the best of life. Right now there is no good shelter for them to sleep, no food to eat and they are not in school due to lack of school fees. These has been the major challenges I'm facing.
