How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I never thought that I will improve my house anytime soon. When GD came to our village, I was told that I will receive 2 transfer. I then set a new goal of improving my house. I then bought 15 bags of cement. The cement will be used to plaster my house and replace the mud flow with a concrete one.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am so grateful to GD for the transfer well received. GD is doing a very good job in providing phones during one of the processes. I now own a phone. The amount of money is also huge such that I have managed to spend it on several things.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my second transfer to buy a bicycle. I have been struggling in terms of movement because social services are Very far from our village.
I am also in the process of improving my house. I bought 15 bags of cement which I will use to plaster my house and replace the mud flow with a concrete one. I also used the money to buy 7 bags of maize for food processing. I have saved part of the money as a security for the unseen circumstances.
