How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has improved because I have repossessed my farm land which I had used as security for the loan. Secondly, next month I will be moving to my permanent house. Before, I had small piece of land which limited my farming.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by enabling me build a permanent house which I never thought I would have built on my own. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought building materials (15 iron sheets, timber, Windows and a door), paid labour, cleared a debt and repossessd my farm land.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life is different in that I am happy to have utensils and bedsheets that make me not afraid to host visitors. In addition, I am able to afford to build an iron sheet roofed house now.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment I received my money, I felt happy because this money would help build a house and acquire more cultivation land.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer has been spent to buy household items like utensils and bedsheets. The rest is saved because the person to help me plan for the house and buy building materials is not available.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The house we are living in apparently is so small and we are congested. Attimes I am forced to send other children to sleep in other relatives houses. So when I receive this money, this will be an opportunity for us also to get decent shelter and accommodation because I will build an ironsheets house that is spacious enough to acvommodate all of us. If there is any balance, I will buy some piece of land that I will plant crops on so that our yields go up.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon after the lunch meal and I am not doing any garden related work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of money to build a bigger house for the whole family. This also makes it hard for me to promptly take care of the household's basic needs.
