Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt very happy because I was going to pay off the debt and complete plastering my permanent house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life has changed because my movements have been made easy with the bicycle I bought. In addition, I also use it for collecting water from the borehole. Previously, I used a wheelbarrow for collecting water which could drain alot of energy. Secondly, I have repossessed my farm land which I had use as security for the loan.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on paying off a debt worth UGX 300,000, medical bills worth UGX 70,000, bought a bicycle worth UGX 374,000, household goods( a mattress, a bed and a pair of bedsheets) worth UGX 225,000, building materials( a metalic door, a bag of cement and two trips of sand ) worth UGX 466,000, solar panel worth UGX 120,000 and paid labour worth UGX 40,000.The rest of the transfer was spent on food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means reclaiming cultivation land used as security for money borrowed, and it also means reduced burden of looking for school fees for the children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am most happy during the afternoon having finished doing morning work and then spend my time with friends. This helps to keep worries away from my head.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship faced currently is shortage of cultivation land to grow more food crops since most it is held up as security for money borrowed. In addition, with limited money available, I find a challenge in paying children's school fees.
