How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life as a vet officer is now better than before.This is because I topped up my first transfer and bought a motorcycle which enables me access more remote areas within short time.Hence more income and more time spent with my family. The second transfers enabled me to buy a heifer which is due hence adequate food for my family. I also have access to clean piped water.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
According to me GiveDirectly does everything well because it has eased my job as a vet officer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent 360 Dollars of my second transfer on a heifer which is due birth. 30 Dollars I spent on my kid's clothing, some on food items and the rest on connection of piped water.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I got my first transfers from Give Directly, I felt so happy as this was a great financial support for me to meet my plans. It is not easy at this time to find someone who is willing to offer you with monetary support without conditions. The happiness which I got is about the unconditionality of the cash which I knew that I would spend wisely so that i would make more money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I bought a new motorbike with part of the transfers which I received, now my work is so smooth as I do not go for repair more often as it was before. I have saved a lot now as I get to reach to the farmers on time and save more money which enable to cater to my family needs.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am a private veterinary officer and my work involves a lot of movement within my area of operation. To facilitate this movement I needed a reliable mode of transport which would enable me to reach farmers on time. Before, I had an old motor bike which would broke down more often and would force me to spent much time and money repairing it. This would result in delays and serve less farmers unlike when I had a reliable motorbike. When I got my first transfers, I sold my old motorbike and put together with part of transfers and bought a new motor bike. I chose to make this my first priority so as to enable me save money which I would spent on repairing my old bike and more importantly save time and serve more farmers timely. I am happy now because I have seen the fruits already. The remaining portion of my transfers, i spent on buying two heifers for rearing. I saw it was also good to invest part of the money so that I would have a living assets that would help us in future.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am planning to construct a dairy shed and livestock feed store for approximately $200. I will spend another $400 to buy a dairy cow. Thus receiving this money is going to make me the dairy farmer I have always wanted to be.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am an agricultural field officer working as a private livestock veterinary professional. The happiest part of my day is the entire day everyday. Since I am the only one around my community, my services are well sought after thus making me busy all day, all week. This makes me happy earning from the job i love.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life if severe drought. I am living in an ASAL area which is rocky and crops and animals feeds hardly grow. Water pans usually dry up and we are forced to take our livestock more than ten kilometres away to look for water and pasture. This usually leads to death of animals along the way thus our source of income is jeopardized.
