Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so grateful for being a GD beneficiary. The transfer meant a lot to me. I pray that God should bless GD.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was a worried person because I had no food. The transfer has made me buy enough food for my family. I used to sleep on the flow, just a mat but because of the transfer I have bought mattress and my sleeping place is comfortable. I have also been struggling to finish my house but I will be able to do so because of this transfer. As I said, I am planning to build a Boysquarter. This is another achievement of the transfer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I sat down with my husband and planned what we need to buy. Then I went to buy 8 bags of maize. We have been sleeping on an empty stomach in the past. I also bought mattress such that I am now sleeping on a comfortable place. I also figured out that I need to build a Boysquarter where my children will be sleeping. So I bought all required materials such as 15 iron sheets and 8 bags of cement. I also bought kitchen utensils such as 2 basins and a set of pots. The remaining part of the money will be used to buy my day to day basic needs.
