What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have been living in a house built with mud and sticks with thatched roof for many years. The present one I am residing is a delapetated structure that I built in 2016. I hardly sleep at night during rainy season because of the many leakages it has . I have to move my belongings from one corner of the house to another when rain falls evertime , a situation that has caused my spouse and I illness for about two years now . Having being opportune to receive a cash transfer from GiveDirectly I will apportion 50% to our new home and the balance 50% be used to treat ourselves. My husband is not available during this interview because he is in a sick bush taking herbs from a country doctor.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Despite all the miserable and hardship I am facing, I always feel joyful and happy whenever I am with my children in our home at the evening hours where all of of them are allowed to give me a story each . With the love and care my children have for each other including my spouse and I, it actually brought joy and happiness to me at every evening hours where when we gathere together.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My challenge is the sicknesses that my spouse and I faced with that we hardly do our farm work nowadays as a result of miserable living conditions ; continual living in delapetated structures for many years. I have no means to do hard work likewise my spouse because of our illnesses to accumulate finance and food for our family.
