How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Since two years ago, I have been planning to build a house in order to avoid living in people houses, because my children are growing up and I don't want them mixed up with different children in the same house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirect is extremely doing well for me and my family, because through Givedirectly, I am able to stand on my own like before. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by GD
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the money to purchase house materials, food and labor for those contractors that are in charge of the building the house

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to build a house because of my children's future, I have lived in my mother's house with my husband and two children for over 5 years now and it has been embarrassing but because of lack of money, we have been managing. Since GiveDirectly has provided me the opportunity to have a better life, I have decided to make my dream of owning a house come true,
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by being very nice with us during interviews, they are also truthful and reliable when giving us information about the program, they are fair and straight in their processes. I don't have any problem with GiveDirctly program, in my opinion, they are doing everything well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to start my house project, I also bought some building materials for my mother's house as well because she has helped my family in so many ways when we had nothing, fixing her house is a sign of gratitude from me for all her tireless efforts. I also bought food with some of the transfer.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On November 10, 2021, I went to do some work in the bush, while working, I heard my phone message tone, when I came to the town to check-up, I saw the transfer message from GiveDirectly indicating that I have received my first transfer from GiveDirectly. When I saw message, I was so happy that day because I was the last person to receive transfer from GiveDirectly from my town.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before GiveDirectly came to help us, I didn't have hope of getting my own house right now because of lack of money, but through this GiveDirectly transfer, I have already started building my own house. Supporting my family also was a big issue for me but now I can do many things for my family without any stress.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my first transfer to buy zinc and other building materials to start building my own house because, the house I am living in right belongs to someone else. I also paid my two children school fees with the money, I bought food for my family also, the remaining amount is save for future purpose.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I'm successfully enrolled in to Give Directly's cash transfer program, I want to use some of the money to start a business through which I believe I will be able to send my children to school. I also want to used portion of the money to built my house for me and my family because we are yet to have our own house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, the only thing that has brought me joy or happiness is the arrival of Give Directly in our town today, October 5,2021; especially when we were told in the meeting that Give Directly will help us with money and that the money is not a loan but it will be given us free.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge that I am currently facing is the lack of money. Due to the lack of money, I haven't been able to send my children to school, which I just told you about and also having a place of my own where my family and I will live happily. In the same way, we are currently facing food shortage in this house due to the lack of money. My husband and I can get food for our family through the burning of Chal coal but these few day, we are still trying to burn the coal so until then, our will be sleeping with hunger for some days.
