How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that I now have what I would not get any time soon. I now have an ox which has is to help me do my farming. Were it not for GD, we would have dig manually which would have taken us long to complete our piece of land.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly did so well by sending unconditional cash to me to buy food for my family. Before I would struggle the whole day without getting money to spend and we would hardly get something to eat. Now am living a happy man as we got enough food. On the other hand, GD did everything rigthfully and the whole process was so perfect
What did you spend your second transfer on?
The second transfer which I received from GD, I spent KES 6000 to plough my piece of land in readiness for planting. I then spent KES 4000 to purchase two sacks of maize for consumption and paid school fees KES 1000 for my children who are in primary school. I then spent another KES 1000 on household shopping and save KES 38700 for future use.
