I bought livestock because we usually needs manure and I Improved my house because it was about to fall down and I bought land to cultivate and I built the toilet
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD delivered me from poverty because It was so hard for me to get health insurance but now i have got everything. we were in though times and GD came at the right time. Everything that GD has done was very good
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I wish to get manure from my livestock and get what to eat in my everyday life

What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought a big cow for 300k because I want milk from the cow and fertilisers so I can put in my crop land.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
When my cow died last year I lost hope but when Givedirectly gave me the financial support, I was able to buy another cow and I also paid the medical insurance and I even bought food and clothes for myself. My life is becoming better because of Givedirectly.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was in the morning around 8 am ,I was home then I heard a notification message. I asked my child to check for me if it was a message from Givedirectly . After he told me that Givedirectly sent money , I was overjoyed and happy. It was a big surprise I told myself that am going to leave the poor life to a better life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Having eye sickness is the challenge am facing I even had a surgery in the past years because i got blind and couldn't see completely but I was able to gain some sight , I also have a high blood pressure and other diseases which I struggle to have medicine for , without i could even die . And this doesn't allow me have enough energy to cultivate my land as I am currently getting support form my son Viateur.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am getting old but I have been able to get some treatment for my disease and my grand children have what to eat and can be able to go to school and that really make me very happy in life
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
With the first transfer i will receive I will buy livestock ; a pig which will cost me 50$ and a goat which will cost me 40$ and some food to eat and clothes and the balance i will be covering my medical bills . And then in the second installment I will build my self my own house and buy some equipment like furnitures.
