What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Most of the money was spent on renewing the roof and walls of my house, I spent 150k on the construction costs .In addition I bought two big goats for 80k.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life has completely changed, I am living in a good house and I was able to buy two goats, I even paid the medical insurance and I repaid some loans I took in the saving group. I deeply thank Givedirectly for the financial support.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was in the morning around 7:30 , I was sitting in my house then I heard a sound on my phone. Because I am old and I don't know how to use the phone I asked my child to check it for me then he confirmed that Givedirectly sent the first transfer. I was so happy and I thanked God for the blessing .

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Not having a fertile land is my greatest challenge, i am not getting enough harvest because i don't get fertiliser to use. I don't have livestock , i have to herd from others to be able to get fertiliser to use in my land and i am not capable to afford inorganic fertiliser. My house is very small and it rains inside, when it rains I am not capable of cooking at that time because my kitchen is inside my room and when the floor is wet i can't be able to fire woods.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I recently got a modern stove which is helping me out these days , i no longer starve at night when it rains because i am not able cook. And i am able to benefit from the government support program which has permitted me to buy a hoe to cultivate and pay worker to work in my land and now I am able to rest. I recently doubled my harvest of soja because before the maximum i could get was 5 kg and now I have harvested 10 kg.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The first installment i want to renovate my house and put on a new roof and cement on the outside , I also plan to buy beds , matress , clothes and food to eat. The second installment I plan to buy livestocks, i want to buy a cow for $300 and build a byre to put it in , with all that work and paying workers it can take me $100 and the balance I want to save it for the future Receiving this money means changing my life , because i will be able to eat healthy and the livestock will give me fertiliser and milk to drink , this will help me reach my development.
