Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sweeping in the yard one early morning, when I suddenly heard a group of people shouting Givedirectly. I was quite sure that Givedirectly has sent the money as promised. Not too long, One of my neighbours heading from the same direction confirm my thought. I was little bit excited, but wanted to be sure that my money has arrived like the other people. I ran quickly to the GSM net work site and latter received an alert from Givedirectly confirming my first payment.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I received this cash transfer from Givedirectly, I will establish abusiness as means of sustainable source of income. The idea behind my plan of making business is to send my kids to school until they all graduate. I never have the opportunity to go to school. My parents left me very young and gave me to a man who I have beared five children for. Right now, I am the victim of being uneducated. I have been fooled many times by people around me. For this reason, I will not like my children to be in the same case. Moreover, if I educate them, they will have a better future that will also allow them take care of me when I am old.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The month of August, 2021 was my happy time. I was happy because, I labour so hard to earn some money and I bought my children school materials. I was really happy because, I was able to meet up with their requests for school materials like: book bags, copy books, shoes and so on . When I took these materials to their uncle, they were happy the entire day. I felt too much pleased as a mother and I was also happy. In many cases, I have not been able to give them gifts because, I don't money to do so. I was happy again when I saw Givedirectly entering our village. In my earlier statement, Iwoll.use Givedirectly cash grant to do business in order to full take care my children school fees and other needs every year.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The hardship I am facing now is financial hardship. The father of my five kids has fallen sick for about four years now and he has not recovered yet. I am the only one paying their school fees with little help from my big brother. Myself I am not educated to enable me have a job to earn more money for their welfare. For this reason, my kids have become additional responsibilities for my older brother. He is just rendering an existence. If I am empowered by Givedirectly through their cash grant, I will bring them under my roof and take their full responsibilities. This will only be realized I have a business functioning.
