How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Were it not for the organisation's, I would not have acquired the oxen that I currently own. Meaning, I would still be hiring other people's oxen as was the case before.
What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on purchasing 2 oxen for ploughing my farms. Being rice farmer, I frequently used oxen which in most occasions were hired. That was very expensive on my side as it boosted a lot my production cost.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in conducting very friendly phone call surveys that is full of respect. That enabled us to have a lot of respect towards the organisation.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the second transfer to buy two cow-bulls for farming, this will me save from using money to hire people to work on my farm. I spent the transfer to buy furniture as I did not have anything to sit on , I also spent the transfer on rice plantation farming, the remaining balance l spent to buy clothes and food for my children.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I now have my cows for farming and l can even hire them to people to get income for my use.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchase of seats (7,000 KES) since we did not have presentable seats, and also bought different school items (uniform shoes, books, sweater) for our child as what she had was mostly worn out (3,000 KES).
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money I felt extremely happy since at that time my house was dry, we did not have enough food. My joy was in the fact that I could buy food and also carry out other planned activities.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I would like to use part of the money to expand on farming to increase productivity. Secondly l would wish to build a new house since the space l have is very small and since I have children and they will also need space for building their houses. Finally l would like to use the remaining amount to pay school fees for my children.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievements are that l have managed to build my own house. Secondly l have struggled to buy livestock such as cow, sheep and goats.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship in life is lack of proper source of income to support my family forcing to me involve in ilicite alcohol and the policemen are chasing after me day and night.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening when relaxing and telling stories with my children after finishing all my work.
