What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I spent 20000 KES on a cow, and invested the rest in poultry farming. I knew that it was prudent starting this business since it would generate us income.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Initially, it was hard paying school fees for my siblings because my mother separated with my father but since I started receiving this money, I have been able to pay for them fees and right now, as we talk, they are learning more comfortably without me struggling a lot to raise the money-this is something that has given me a peaceful state of mind. It is how my life different than it would have been if I never received the transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what Give Directly does well is giving out money in lumpsum-this ensures that we don't waste it. But personally, I would only be glad if Give Directly would consider coming to our village to consider those who never took the program seriously and have now learnt the its legitimacy.
