How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different from how it was four months because I managed to buy a solar panel. I used to have a small tin lamp which consumed a lot of kerosene which was very costly. I also built a kitchen using transfers. I built a bigger kitchen where I do my cooking and has a separate room where my daughters can spend their nights. I also spent my transfer on buying beddings for my children. The transfers brought a lot of transformations in my family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start a new business of selling fish. I currently sell vegetable which is bringing very little profit since vegetables are seasonal. I am hopeful that once I start doing fish vending I will have a more reliable source of income which I can count on any season.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My biggest difference is building a house for my son. He is mentally impaired and not in the capacity of doing any income generation activity. He had been spending his nights in my living room which was quite not in order according to our culture. Sometimes he would go asking for a place to spend his night from the neighbours when we had visitors and in most cases, his request would be turned down due to his mental condition. I am glad I managed to build him a house and saved us the humiliation.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to plaster the walls of my main house. It is currently made of mud which is usually washed down during rainy days forcing me to be smearing often to maintain its firmness. Plastering the walls will be a permanent solution and will also make my house look better than it does.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I received money from GiveDirectly is that I'm now happy my children now have a sleeping room, so they do not have to walk at night to seek for a sleeping space.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I have a new goal of expanding my business so that I can have enough stock to take me for a longer period thus less cost on transport while going for more stock every time and more income.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from the way it would have been had I not received the money in that I'm now more focused and willing to meet my goals. If it wasn't for GiveDirectly my children would still be sleeping in the neighbors home.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I have a new goal of plastering my floor so that it can look decent and save me from the cost of repairing it every time. I didn't know I would one day plaster it but with the GD money, I believe I'll do it.
