Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the house that I built using part of my first transfer. We had lived an uncomfortable life with my young family since we had a small grass thatched house that could not even accommodate a bed. The biggest hardship and desperacy of my small house were going around my neighborhood to ask for someone house to welcome my visitors whenever I had. I had always felt ashamed and lost my self-esteem due to this in society. I depend on hardly found low paying casual jobs leaving my family to heavily depend on my husband tailoring business which can only afford the household daily expenditure. I spend KES25000 of first transfer to build an iron-roofed, two-roomed house that has given we currently have pride as a family. I am so happy that I can currently live in a better place, can acquire more household items since my house can accommodate as well as welcoming anyone in my home unlike before.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was awoken by a message notification on my phone at around midnight, on checking I was amazed by a notification that I had received money from GD. I was left wondering if what I had seen was true before breaking the news to my husband who was asleep, I woke up and sat on my bed happily. I was so thankful and immediately shared the news with my husband which made him happy and thankful too.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Even though I have a young family with low expense as it might look, raising these is always a challenge. I live in a small grass thatched house that cannot even accommodate a three by six feet bed. I have lived like a beggar in the village carrying around shame in the village whenever I have visitors since I was always forced to go ask someone in the neighborhood to receive visitors on their home. When I received my first transfer I spent KES25000 to build a house. I am so happy am like everyone else in the society currently, I have pride of welcoming anyone in my place unlike before. I used KES16000 to buy a heifer to add to one I had since this an added asset in my family and am sure that with time will help me in milk production hence will have income from milk sale and some for household consumption. I spent the remaining part of my first transfer on my household daily basic needs and other household expenditures.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will now build a house. The house that I am living in is so tiny and grass thatched.I will build a bigger house with an iron sheet roof.I will then buy two sheep with remaining part of the first transfer.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I wake up in the morning and do my usual house chores before I graze and water the cattle.I then come back and prepare lunch around midway.Beginning afternoon I relax since I am done with the main activities of the day. This is the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I was born in a family of eight and it was a challenge growing up in as far as basic needs is concerned. My aunt visited us one day and requested my mum to allow me to go and stay at her place. My mother agreed without hesitation and I travelled with my aunt.I was eleven years old. This is where I went through hell for 2 years. My aunt mistreated me.She beat me and overworked me.I wore torn clothes and she never bothered to buy me while she bought for her children. This went on until one day I decided to run away.Through the assistance of the village elder I was able to get bus fare to travelled back home. This really affected my life and my studies. It is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life.
