Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at the local health center with my kids when I heard the SMS notification. I checked and I so thrilled when I realized GD had sent the transfer just as agreed. I immediately rushed into starting my house renovation, buying food and paying off the debts that I had. I started thinking about everything that I could do all thanks to GD. We are likely to come accross imposters in our village and that is why I transfered the money from Mobile Money to my Saving and Credit Cooperative Society account.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I did not live a good life before receiving LS1. I hardly got food and rarely got job opportunities to sustain my family since my husband often leaves me to raise our children alone and comes back after a long period of time. A strong wind had recently struck my house and my children's room had fallen off. We were forced to sleep in the same room but they now have their own room all thanks to GD. I plan on adding another visitors room and buying a plot of land when I receive LS2.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received the first transfer, I first focused on renovating my house which cost me around 98 $, I paid 15 $ for my child's education, I paid off a 35 $ debt that I had, bought clothes worth 20 $ and bought utensils worth 30 $. I was in real need of the house renovation because my children and I were now sleeping in one room.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I will buy land of 200$ and a big pig of 50$. In addition to that, I will build a new house to get a good shelter using 400$ because I will buy metal sheets and trees to use. The remaining amount I will use 50$ to buy food and then I save 100$.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was happy that I ended the last year 2022 without being sick and my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge I am facing currently is not having a good house to live in with my children because when it rains, all the water comes in the house and it becomes a flood. Another thing is that I do not have a specific job to do which can bring food on my table.
