Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I am a mason and practice masonry for a living. I was on a worksite when I received the grant. I was so happy and started thinking of what I would do with the money while finishing off my daily task. I got off work very late and I could not wait to withdraw the money the day after. When I received the money the day after, I immediately bought iron sheets to start renovating my house, some food and also the home utensils that I needed.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
We were not living in good conditions before receiving the grant. My house needed renovation and I really had a hard time finding some food for my family and I. Since I received my GD transfer, it is safe to say that I have fewer problems and I also plan on buying a cow for manure and milk for my kids.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I had a house that was about to collapse and in which I did not feel comfortable sleeping in. The renovation and improving of the house cost me around 240 $, I bought food worth 50 $ and home utensils that were worth 40 $. I am so happy my wife and kids are now able to sleep in a secure place.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
We are planning to buy a cow of 250$ and a land of 200$. We also live in a house which needs to be rebuild , we hope to use 100$. We will buy foods and clothes of 150$, the remaining amount will be in the saving group.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Our government thought about us and gave us a stove which will help us to cook easily. Moreover, my family is healthy, we ended the last year in good health.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We are facing a challenge of not having the livestocks which can help us to get a fertiliser. We don't also have enough land to cultivate and get enough harvest.
