How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently, I am concentrating on purchasing a new mattress which was not part of my previous plan of building a new house.Building was the only goal at first because the house in which I live is not in a good condition. Even though, my mattress is a bit good, but I deem it prudent enough to purchase another for a better comfort.

Givedirectly directly is ethical and very professional in doing their work. They are doing well with their program support to rural citizens. So far, I haven't observe anything Givedirectly is not doing well.

My desire has been to live a better life and have a good house, but getting the money to execute such plan has been very challenging. However, With the help of the transfer, I purchased bundles of zinc and enough cement to commence the building of my house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was one afternoon I came from washing my clothes as soon as I got on my front porch, I heard my phone vibrating and I observed that I have receiveed a message in my inbox. Within that time, I hurriedly called one of my neighbours to read my message. When she unlocked the phone, she said to me GiveDireclttly has sent you a transfer. At that moment I felt very happy because I have been planning to renovate my mother's house but I had no money to undertake the project

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive the cash transfer from Givedirectly, I will use some of the money to firstly buy a new mattress for my ageing and sick mother because she doesn't have a better mattress, and then I will use the balance to the business and use the profit to reconditioned or renovate the house. Although I make farm to cater me and my mother, but the money I earned from the farm is what I spend on food for us. I've always planned on buying mattress for my mother but because of lack of money I've not been able to actualize it. So receiving this money will be a dream come true.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months what has brought me happiness or joy is seeing my sick mother on her feet from her sick bed. My mother had been very sick to the extent that I nearly gave up on her especially so when I did not have money anywhere to take care of her. But joy and happiness have filled me to see her relatively well.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge I am facing is lack of money. Since my husband left me, I am doing everything by myself to cater for me and my ageing and sick mother. Even though I am making farm to sustain me and my mother, but the money I earned from the farm is not enough to maintain us. I will appreciate any help I can get to make me actualize my dream.
