"My main goal is to educate my children to a higher level. I have 4 school-going children with the last one yet to join school, and since getting money to pay for their school fees had been a great challenge, I plan to venture into an income-generating project that would be of help in the long run. Therefore, I would want to start a livestock rearing project and buy goats with the transfers that I will be receiving from GiveDireclty then later find a market for them. In addition, I would also be saving part of the transfers."

"My main goal is to have a business that would help generate income for my family. My husband and I currently do not have reliable sources of income, therefore I plan to start a retail shop business selling a variety of food items. To achieve this, I would like to take a loan in my savings group amounting to $120 for a start-up capital by the start of next year and I believe that this kind of business would be a great help."

"As I look ahead to the coming year, my main focus is on improving the small business I currently run by buying more stock and hopefully extending it. However, my long-term goal goes beyond just the business itself. I aspire to invest in two oxen that will greatly aid in land tilling, seizing the opportunity presented by the high demand for such services and the scarcity of available oxen. With these mighty creatures by my side, I hope to provide an invaluable service to the community while securing a brighter future for myself and my small business."

"My main goal is to be one of the known livestock keepers in the area. With my previous transfers, I have been buying livestock and as of now, I have 5 goats. My plan is still to buy more with the transfers that I will be receiving so that at the end of a certain period, I could trade some of them to get cows and with that, the project would be growing as per my wishes and thus achieving my goals."

"My goal is to have a bigger house. I currently have a family of 6 which is still growing, and the house that we are currently in is a one-roomed grass-thatched house that is too small to fully accommodate us. With elder children, I thought it was a good idea to have a two-roomed house so that we have separate rooms with the children. Therefore, my plan was to save part of my transfers so that by the end of the year I start on the construction."

"I currently have a house but it is in a dilapidated state because whenever it rained we are always rained on and the mug walls keep on being washed off. My goal is to have a permanent house that would be suitable for my family also owing to the fact that I have a family that is still growing. To achieve this, I plan to be saving part of my monthly transfers so that by September once I am done with my leg operation, I shall commence the construction."

"I have school-going children, and paying for their school fees had been quite a challenge, a situation that makes me stressed most of the time. My main goal is, therefore, to see my children go to school without frequent interruptions of being sent home for school fees. To achieve this, I have started a chicken-rearing project that would help me to generate income that would be of help in terms of paying for their school fees. I also plan to be saving part of my monthly transfers."

"The aspect that is making my life harder currently is sickness. Over the past few months I was diagnosed with typhoid and I have not recovered well despite the medicine that I received. This has been made worse by the lack of food in my house and since I have to work to eat I have been forced to go hungry without food. I have to struggle to walk for about 3 kilometers to where my daughter is married to get food to cook which is made worse by my current condition."

"My life is full of challenges because of my old age. However, the most pressing challenge I'm facing at the moment that is making my life harder is the lack of food. We have not had enough rains in the past three years which has led to the unproductivity of our farms. I have been forced to depend on food from the market which is quite expensive. Even though my children struggle to purchase food for me it might not be enough to feed me and my husband for many weeks. This has affected me psychologically since I feel if it were not for my age I would fend and provide for my family. At the moment I have to skip some meals which is very difficult."
