Janet
received a $526 second payment.
"Business used to be down initially. It was hard to even sell one sack of maize in a day. Now as we speak (noon), I have already sold four times what I used to struggle to sell a whole day. By end of day, I sell between 15-20 sacks and get good returns. Maize has a high demand in these sides. GD has brought such an awakening! I am even now optimistic I will own a pickup truck soon for transportation; something I never dreamed of. This is a miracle to say the least. GiveDirectly is God-sent in my view. We have been transformed as a people. The future is good for us courtesy of GiveDirectly. All we say is Thank You for the funds GD sent us."

Annah
received a $526 second payment.
"My life is different. First, school fee for my son is fully catered for the rest of his secondary education. Initially, he often missed school due to lack of funds for fee. Second, my children do not roam in the village borrowing space to sleep at night. There is a brand new house for them and they are comfortable. We built it using the transfer we received from GD. Finally, we are well fed as a family. We used to skip meals due to lack of funds but now we are a happy lot; we have more than enough courtesy of GiveDirectly. Thank you GD!"

Chepkemoi
received a $526 second payment.
"I now have milk in my homestead. I plan to own a piece of land soon. I have afforded clothing that I used not to afford. These are the differences that GD transfers have brought in my life. I am optimistic for a better life too. I did not have much hope earlier due to the poverty that was staring at our faces. We are optimistic to advance our lives because the cash has made things to happen for us that were not happening before. We are grateful for this."
