"My expectation in the near future is to have an additional dairy cow for rearing. I am a big lover of farming which includes rearing of animals, and apart from the love, the sale of milk produced by the cows helps us as a family meet our daily needs. In the near future,I want to be selling a good amount of milk from my farm."

"Our land is located in a rocky place and literally live on top of rocks. Every time we practice farming especially maize crops, they hardly make it due to scorching sun and insufficient water in the soil. Thus we have had to over depend on my husband's motorcycle taxi business to provide for all our basic needs in the family –which is never enough."

"Without the transfers, life would have been really so hard. Looking back at the great steps and achievements I have coined since I received the transfers, it is hard to imagine how it would have been without that money. I am quite sure that I would have sol part of my land to settle the medical bills and my children would have stayed home due to lack of school fees."

"I am proud to own a cow in my homestead courtesy of GiveDirectlyt. I struggle to bring in assets that I can take pride in and lean on in case of financial needs but this had been challenging due to limited resources. My income has been too small to cater for both household daily needs and investments. I am currently keeping a cow with an aim that once they reproduce, I will have milk for both household consumption and sales. I will have offsprings which to me which I can always depend on in case of any financial crisis. To me having livestock in my homestead is the biggest difference in my daily life."

"Burning charcoal at my age is no longer easy and this means I am struggling to make ends meet. Being a widow, I have no one to support me yet I still have school going children. My ambition is to purchase livestock that will include two dairy cows, a pair of oxen and goats. These animals will generate income as well as scale up farming to achieve food security for my family."

"Education is the key towards quality life since it provides one with better opportunities in the economic sector. My parents never took me to school because of the notion that a girl should not be educated. Because of this status I am almost a beggar as I depend on my husband for a living yet he doesn't have a stable job. I wouldn't want generational poverty to run in my family and the only way I can curb this is through educating my children. My plan is to start a goat rearing project that I will use to finance their education. My preference for these animals is because of their ability to resist drought and they multiply very fast thus making them more profitable."

"For the past one year I have been living under a very poor structure after my house collapsed. Since I am not financially stable, I built a house that resembles a chicken pen to shelter my family. The condition of this place is not fit for human life and it is a threat to our security. The house is surrounded by bushes that harbour very dangerous snakes. As if this is not enough the walls are almost falling and it has no door to protect our household items. Therefore, receiving this transfer means constructing a better house to provide my family a decent shelter."
