"I am a parent who values education so much. I have seen people who have gone to school and they are successful in life. I have 3 children who are currently in school and I will fight for them to have the best education ever. One of my children is in university pursuing a course in Hotel Management. The other two are in high school and primary level. I pay a total of 60000 shillings to my son in university every single year. I also pay 18000 shillings for the one in high school and 5000 shillings for my last born in primary. Raising this amount of money is not easy considering that I do any job. Receiving this money will mean a lot to mean because it will remove the burden of school fees off my shoulders."

"Receiving this money will help me open a retail shop at a nearby shopping centre. My spouse will help me run this shop since she has been idle most of the time at home. I have budgeted for 500 USD to start the business. I will also use part of the money to buy 5 goats and 3 cows. This will cost me approximately 400 USD. Livestock will help me get milk for sale and in a few years to come they will have increased in number."

"Receiving this money means that I will finally be able to raise medical cost that is required to treat an injury on my left hand. If I settle this, I will be in a position to perform several other duties that the pain has previously limited me from doing. I will also buy a dairy cow at shillings 20,000 which I know that once it calves will be a constant source of income for my family through the sales of milk."

"I have had a desire to own a piece of land in the nearby town (Jila center) to construct a business room where my husband can do his shop business, but this dream has never come to reality. When I heard about the arrival of GiveDirectly, my hopes got renewed and I am now happy to know that soon I will have the opportunity to buy the land. My option is to spend my first transfer ($500) to purchase the land. Having acquired the land, my second transfer will aid in the construction of the structure which I am also sure of costing me $500. This will assure us of a stable source of income since we will no longer pay rents and hence a transformed life."

"I am a student in my second year in college studying General Agriculture and my spouse who is a driver in a security company is the one financing my education. Receiving this money therefore will enable me to lessen his struggles by clearing my next year's school fees of $300. I will also buy one Friesian cow for $400 to ensure constant daily income from selling milk as well as no more worries about where to get money to buy milk for domestic use. I also intend to buy 100 improved chicken breeds that will enable me to initiate a chicken rearing project hence financial independence on my side. The capital for this project will cost approximately $300."
