"I spent KES 30000 of my first transfer on buying a pair of oxen. This pair will help me in doing my farming timely for a better harvest. I used to cultivate a small piece of land but now with this pair of oxen, I am assured of utilising my whole acreage. I spent the remaining amount on building a house for my children. They are out of age and did not have there own house. The current house was not spacious enough to accommodate them. I thus bought enough building materials such as iron sheets, nails and poles to build the house."

"I mostly rely on charcoal vending and farming which is largely affected by rainfall for a living. Sometimes when there is no rain I get low yields and the income I get per month in charcoal vending is 4,000 Kenya shillings which is not enough to sustain our needs. This has hindered me on expanding my house thus my biggest hardship I have ever faced in my life is lack of enough resources to meet my family needs."

"I spent part of my first transfer on buying livestock such as a dairy cow and an ox. This is what I have been longing to own for years but I could not afford it because of the poverty life that had stricken my household. I am positive that through them, I will achieve a lot. Also with the remaining amount of money, I bought enough foodstuffs such as maize floor, for my family that would take us to the harvesting season and some other items that I was lacking."
