"My goal is to renovate my kitchen which is old, leaking and about to collapse. The situation is worsening during the rainy season since I am forced to cook using wet firewood. Additionally, I would wish to boost livestock rearing by purchasing more animals. This will be a reliable source of livelihood that will support me and the family whenever we experienced financial challenges in the future. Currently, I am forced to assume the responsibility of bringing up the family alone due to my spouse's health conditions."

"In my opinion, the support from GiveDirectly not only improved our lives but also that of the most vulnerable residents of our community. There is no doubt about the organization's impact on our community. Most of us had our living status upgraded as a result. We saw no irregularities in any of the locations where the organization worked near our areas, and they did an outstanding job there."

Eunice
received a $451 second payment.
"I spent $200 of my second transfer on paying fees for my two sons pursuing nursing and three are in primary school. Paying their fees has been a major challenge because my spouse and I did not have a stable source of income. The little we could earn could not sustain all our basic needs and therefore sometimes we had to borrow loans from microfinance. It is now a relief to me because at least for this particular academic year, I will not be bothered with the issue of fees. To add to that, I used $300 of the money to boost my business of hawking new clothes from town to town. I am glad that the business is running perfectly fine with good returns despite the few challenges. I thank God I am not where I used to be. I can settle the bills on time and even save a little for any emergency. With the remaining amount, I bought food for my family which took us almost two weeks."

"I wish to open a business which includes selling vegetables and new clothes in my village. I feel that this is the most lucrative business which is on as well on high demand. After conducting my research I discovered that there are countable shops which deal with such commodities. Therefore I am certain that once I will get the empowerment, my life will change in a great way and I will be in a position to support my spouse who has been the family breadwinner for years."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly does very well in terms of enrolment. With the help of the village elder, they could enroll every member of the village who fit their registration policies. The level of transparency in the enrollment process was top-notch. They even provided some clarification to some members who were not legible. This was a perfect exercise conducted."

Catherine
received a $451 second payment.
"It was a good idea to send us money directly, as that was the method employed. I say this because it provided us the freedom to spend the money however our oppressive necessities dictated. There has been an open change in the advancements in our hamlet thanks to GiveDirectly's transfers. People used the money for a variety of initiatives that served their needs. Some built homes because they lived in hats, others developed businesses to support their families, and others bought livestock. I agree with the enrolling exercise, which by being conducted fairly and equally gave a positive image of the organization."

Menza
received a $436 second payment.
"I am married with one child and currently live with my mother. I was working as a motorbike rider before I got enrolled in the program. The pay was about $3 daily, which was quite a struggle to budget for my family. After receiving my first cash transfer, I was optimistic and opened a grocery with $400. I also bought a wooden bed and a mattress for $90; it was time because for the longest time; I didn't own a bed, and the mattress was old and worn out. The remaining $60 was used to buy food because I was careful not to consume the grocery stock. Business picked up and when I received the second transfer, I used $480 to buy more stock for the grocery and expanded my business by opening a vegetable stall with the remaining $50. This has enabled my business to increase in profit because of the demand for vegetables in the area."
