"My business is not doing well at the moment. The last profit I made from the fish business I used to pay school fees for my grandson who is in university. Now I can only manage to buy a stock of $8 which cannot afford me meals in a day. I survive on a cup of tea and a meal at night, which is sad."

"GiveDirectly lifted me and changed my life in so many ways that I could have never expected someone to. This means that, so many people have experienced the same impact and generally, what GiveDirectly does well is uplifting the less fortunate in the society through the unconditional cash transfers. Honestly I have not seen an area that you need to improve on and I will urge you to continue doing the good work."

"What GiveDirectly does well is empowering us in various ways. I was able to buy some livestock which will help me in future and same applies to so many people in the community where GiveDirectly works. Thank you for the financial aid and may you reach as many people as you can."

"What GiveDirectly does well is supporting everyone in the village regardless of their social class. Although, I have not seen anything that they need to improve on, I would urge them to support orphans and people living with HIV/AIDS more. Orphaned children are at risk of never going to school and supporting them will mean so much to them."

"I am looking forward to concentrate on modern farming now that I got my farm back. Putting more effort on maize farming will mean that I will have enough for domestic use and I will sell the surplus to pay school fees for my children when they join collage. I really don't want them to miss going to collage and chase their dreams and I cant wait for a day when I will see them graduating."

"What GiveDirectly does well is doing follow up after sending the the transfers. This shows how transparent the organization is by doing checks to ensure that the recipients received their transfers. It also reduces risks of fraud as no one would risk asking for bribe because they know there would be follow ups after and they will be reported."

"I have a lot of plans this year, especially in relation to the money I will be receiving, so I am rather happy about it. I was expecting to save the cash so that I could ultimately build a suitable home for myself because the one I currently dwell in makes it difficult to believe that anyone is living there. In addition, I must express my gratitude for the donations because they have made it possible for me to meet my daily needs rather than relying on my grandson, who barely earns enough money to support himself. As a result, I want to set aside some money so that I may concentrate on my nutrition and also hopefully invest on buying some farm animals."

"When my husband and I got married, we thought we would build our family a big nice house but we have not been able to achieve this dream since no one of use got a good sourced of income. We are both casual workers and the maximum daily wage that we can afford is $4. With six children, we can only afford to provide basic needs because paying school fees has been a struggle. We have never been able to build a decent house for our family and we have been sharing our one bedroom house with our six children. I spend $100 to pay school fees balance for my children and spend the balance to build a three bedroom semi permanent house for my family. I am happy that we now have our privacy as parents and our children have enough shared bedrooms."
