"Food insecurity is what is making our lives difficult. We were displaced by bandits from Tiati and it scattered our lives and disoriented us, we are still reeling from its effects to date. We came to this village as internally displaced persons and we were given this place to stay by a good Samaritan who understood our plight and offered us a place to live albeit shortly as we look for an alternative. Life has been so miserable for us, all the livestock we had were stolen and we have since been plunged into poverty, especially food poverty. So bad is the situation that it's hard to afford even just a meal ,since yesterday we have never eaten anything safe for the porridge that we gave the young children, Mark you we have 5 children. The eldest ones were not able to go to school today because they are hungry and feeble. The world will forever seem infinitely more sinister and unforgiving for us. Nothing seems to work out and we have lost hope of ever living the good life we desire."

"Food is very expensive due to the high cost of living. The drought has persisted for the last three years. This led to no harvest during that period leading to a food shortage. To get food we depend on casual jobs. They are rare to get and the pay is low. $1 a day. This cannot support a family of 9. It's very hard putting food on the table."

"I dropped out of school for lack of school fees. Since then, I am not able to secure formal employment because I did not complete my studies. I resorted to the brokerage of livestock as a way of earning income. My job is unreliable and seasonal, as result, I hardly save any amount for other things like investments. Financial constraints are the biggest challenge currently."

"I have been sickly for the past five years and my wife passed on a while ago. It has been a challenge since I do not have money to pay for my insurance cover and this has forced me to withstand the pain. I have told all the livestock I had to get medication bit still no improvement. Most of the time my neighbors contribute for my upkeep."

"Food access has been quite a challenge. The drought has been too much. Last year we planted our farm but due to the inadequate rains, we harvested nothing. This led to the food shortage we're currently experiencing. It has made our lives very difficult.
To get food we must find casual jobs which are hard to come by. One is paid $2 per day. The amount is too little, especially with the high cost of living. It's hard providing for our family now."

"RE " My biggest accomplishments are as follow:
I now have a mini business of my own, so even after givedirectly leaves i can still survive from the investment of the cash transfer i had received.
This house am currently living in has been old for years, but because of givedirectly program it is now admired by everyone that sees it, because it has been transformed to a decent house as you can see now.
Am so grateful to givedirectly for this help "."
