"I spent part of my first transfer on buying a dairy cow and an ox and four goats worthy of KES 46000. It has been my desire to keep them in my compound but I could not afford them because they were too expensive considering the fact that I am a casual laborer. I later bought several building poles, timber, and iron sheets purposely for the renovation of my house since it was in a poor state and almost falling. With the amount of money that remained, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now a proud owner of dairy cows and a goat. I have been yearning to keep them in my compound but I could not afford them. Therefore for all that long I have been admiring my neighbors and promised myself to own some in the near future. Currently, I am getting plenty of milk and my children are now healthy. Before the coming of GiveDirectly, I used to buy the milk from friends which sometimes I could not afford because it was relatively expensive. I am now hopeful and happier because I am even planning to sell the remaining liters to my neighbors and generate an income. I am certain that this will enable me to pay school fees for my children without straining."
