Chepkemoi
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I am able to pay my child's school fee on time. I invested the monthly transfers on maize farming by buying quality input such as seeds and fertilizers. We reaped heavily from the maize farm. I kept some of the production for family consumption and sold the rest to pay the fee. I was also able to acquire the school requirements such as uniforms and books for him since he was joining form one for his secondary education. If not for the Give Directly transfers, I do not know where I would be getting such an amount to take him to school."

"Receiving this money means that I will purchase two dairy cows. This will mean a constant supply of milk in my village and the nearest Bamba market. Running this business will help me attain a stable source of income that will cater for my family needs. The biggest motive behind this is to achieve my ambition of educating my children. I believe that education is the only inheritance that I can give them since I own nothing apart from my small house. This will help them come out of the vicious cycle of poverty in our family, which I believe is caused by illiteracy."
