"The small amount which we have been receiving in bits from GiveDirectly has really brought a lot of differences in our current life. We used to produce a little amount of milk from our cows due to the insufficient feeds we were providing for our cows. We realized that our breeds were potential milk-producing cows and added the feeds which later resulted in some good results. In addition, we have been able to establish a business which is now running well and helps us in providing daily income for use in the family."

"I am generally living a happier life than I was living four months a go. The fact that I have been able to buy one dairy cow and planning to buy another one really gives me much joy. The monthly transfers that we get consistently has also enabled us as a family to eat healthy all the days of the month and raise a happy family. We are so grateful to GiveDirectly for the support that we are getting from them."

"When I receive this money, I will build an ironsheets house that is big enough to accommodate all of us. The house we are in currently is not in good shape, it was ivaded by termites and rats and the grass needs to be replaced frequently, which is costly. I will also buy some cows for diary and ploughing if at all there is some balance. This will help save our money that we spend on hiring ploughing services."

"The biggest difference in my life is that, I have bought cows that I intend to use for paying dowry for my grandson’s wife. Prior to receiving this transfer, I didn't have hope to pay cows for dowry much as my grand son had reached a stage of marriage. Furthermore, I am planning to plaster my house that had stayed for long without completion."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that l am always at ease when it comes to paying school fee for my children, because anytime i received the money i always give school fee first priority. I do not need to struggle so much as I used to do before, because I now have a support. I managed to buy a dairy cow and fortunately it has started producing milk. I sell some milk in community and some for my family consumption. Since the milk started getting me some income, my family has never gone to bed hungry. We are able to at least our daily needs. This was different then as we could go to bed hungry most of the times if we did not raise enough money to buy the food."
