"The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these transfers is that I have a new iron-roofed house. I used to live in a grass-thatched house which was too small and the roof was leaking too. Due to the small income from my foodstuff business which was not consistent, I was not able to buy building materials to build a new house of my desire. With GD transfers, I was able to buy building materials such as iron sheets, nails and timber which I have used to build a house of my preference. I thank GD for changing my life."

"GiveDirectly has done well giving money directly that has enabled people get alleviated from problems of grass thatched house by building iron sheet roofed house. In addition, it has done well by not being selective to a few like most government projects that come to help people in the community. Though the money is so helpful, GiveDirectly could have been more better by training people to utilize the transfers in such a way that provides sustainability in the long run, like project that generates more money to support life difficulties in a long run."
