Sidi
received a $493 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daqily life is that I will forever mention is the fact that I now own a dairy cow and a few goats. I have really been aspiring to keep them in my compound but I could not afford them because they are costly. With the dairy cow will be getting milk for free and I will use a few litres for my family's consumption and for the remaining ng litres I will sell them to our nearby town centres. I am ambitious that this will make me become wealthier in a short period of time hence I will no on longer strain in meeting family's needs as I used to do."

Ednah
received a $494 initial payment.
"The money from GiveDirectly is going to create a very big difference in our life as a family. We will be able to finish constructing the house that had become hard for us to complete. We will therefore be able to live comfortably when the house gets finished and we will no longer be having worries about where we are to get money to complete it. The two goats that we bought are going to multiply in number with time and hence it can help us with other things. We can sell some of them and use the money in expanding the business or to attend to an emergency that might occur. The calf that we plan to buy with the remaining money will grow and when it reproduces, we will be able to get milk that my family can consume. We will hence be able to save up money that we have been using on buying milk. Also, with the two bags of maize that we bought with the transfer, we will be able to have something to eat for quite some time as we wait for the ones on the farm to ripen. We will thus not worry about what we are going to eat."

Gideon
received a $494 initial payment.
"With this piece of land that we have bought, our lives are going to change for the better. Our cows will have enough space to graze. I also plan to till part of the land and plant some crops such as maize and grass for the cows. This way, my family will have food to eat and we will be able to get grass to feed the cows. The cows that we are taking care of, will also be of great benefit to us. We will be able to get milk that the family can consume and we can sell some. The money from the milk sales will enable us to invest in other things such as buying goats that we can rear."

Kadzo
received a $494 initial payment.
"I spent my transfers to purchase two goats, I bought food and clothes for my children, and I also bought two beds and two mattresses. I am a single parent to my five children. I separated with my husband years ago and I came back home to my parents, where I live with my children. I bought goats with the hope that I can rear them so they can reproduce and produce profits for me in future either by selling them or in production of goat milk or goat meat."
