"There was a day I wanted to build kitchen, I had set a side money to build it but I felt sick and I had to spend all the money I had raised to pay for my medical Bill. To date I have never had enough money to build kitchen, this was the biggest hardship I have ever faced in my life"

"In 2016 I planted maize 1/4 acres which I got high yields and the maize demand was so high- double the normal market price. This ensured that my family got enough food throughout the year and also earned me enough money to pay school fees for my children. This is the achievement I am proudest of."

"The biggest hardship I ever faced in my life is when two of my children were joining secondary school, I didn't have enough money for their school fees. I had to sell only dairy cow to pay for them. From then we've never had milk in our family"

"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of school fees. I was forced to drop out of school in standard 8 because my parents could not afford to pay my high school fee. This was hard for me since I had always believed that education would change my life positively. I lived in denial for a very long time but I finally chose to struggle and make sure that my children will not go through the same experience."

"The achievement that am proudest of is building a house for my family. I work as a casual labourer within the village. I struggled a lot to save at least five hundred shillings per month through merry go round- I was able to buy iron sheets through the savings and build a descent home for my family. This made me so proud and I cannot forget it."

"We have always desired to give our children the best in terms of education. There are times when we had our children in various schools and we needed money to pay their school fees. We strained financially as a family and we ended up borrowing more than we were able to pay. It is still a problem up to date but we are struggling to clear the debts. This has been the biggest hardship in our lives."

"The biggest hardship I have faced is the loss of my husband. I become the sole bread winner for my family despite the fact that I did not have a stable income. I had to find ways of how my children would eat, what they would wear and how they could go to school. His death left me a sad and bitter woman especially with all the responsibilities I had to do."

"The achievement I am most proud of is being able to take care of my children by providing for them food, shelter and clothing. I was left a widow at a tender age and picking up the responsibilities of catering for the children plus loneliness weighed heavily on me. "

"My life is currently different from how it would have been had I never received the transfer as I am able to attend the hairdressing training. Something I never thought would be possible."

"In 2017, my wife, Mercy felt so sick that she was admited in hospital for almost a month. Unfortunately, this came when I had no money at all, and I had to beg from my fellow villagers. This came to be my biggest hardship that I pray for it not to come again."
