"My proudest achievement is building my current house. I had been living in a grass thatched house for many years but now live in a better permanent house though it is not completely finished."

"My proudest achievement would be establishing my own home in January this year. I am now able to freely implement my projects and make decisions without having to seek permission from my parents. I have freedom to develop."

"The biggest hardship that am facing is raising school fees for my children.I took a loan to pay for their fees and sometimes when the farm does not yield enough it becomes difficult to pay the loan as well as paying school fees."

"My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and was admitted to Tenwek hospital for about 5 months in 2016. She fought hard for her life. We did all we could but she passed on in July the same year. Before her demise she operated a clothes business that sustained our family including my school fees and other basic needs. Besides, she played a big role in my life including moral and emotional support. Losing her is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life was in 2016 when I had forgo school for three months due to lack of fees. It was hard because I was about to sit for a national exam; the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) yet I didn't have the necessary reading materials at home. This predicament was consequent to my mother's admission to Tenwek hospital for cancer which drained our family financially. I went back to school later but failed my exam. I accepted the results but I do not intend to continue with my education. "

"Last year I felt sick, my legs were paralyzed and so I couldn't continue with my tomatoe farming. This was the time My children need me the most, all my two sons were joining secondary school and the daughter was to join college. I was unable to pay for their school fees, thanks to the county government for coming to my rescue with Bursary and this was my biggest hardship in my life"
