"I spent part of first transfer on buying some building materials such as building poles, some pieces of iron sheets, timber, nails. This was for propose of renovating the previous one had some grass-thatched roofing which was leaking when it rains. I am also planning to buy a dairy cow which will serve as assets to me. I then hired a tractor to prepare my farm because we are approaching the planting season. The remaining amount I am using it in buying some foodstuffs and some household items that I was lacking."

"Our lives have greatly changed after GiveDirectly visited our village. We have been able to provide for our families effectively, purchasing livestock as assets and most importantly, building better iron-roofed houses thus enjoying good shelter. "The transfer has enabled me to construct another iron roofed house. Secondly, I bought a bicycle that has eased my husband's movements to his work place. Previously, I had a small house which was not spacious enough for me and my children. My husband could walk long distances which made him more tired."

"We have been able to provide for our families effectively, purchasing livestock as assets and most importantly, building better iron-roofed houses thus enjoying good shelter courtesy of GiveDirectly. Since the first meeting done by GiveDirectly, every subsequent event unfolded smoothly according to the said standards. We were well thaught and informed on various good ways we could spend the transfer. We chose on our own how to spend the transfer and today I can look back and smile on the various way I used the money."

"My life has greatly changed after receiving my transfers since I have built a decent spacious kitchen. I now have a decent iron-roofed kitchen which has boosted my self-esteem in society and given better comfort. This is a dream that I could not have fulfilled at my own cost. I had for long wished to have a decent house kitchen that can comfortably accommodate my children and even visitors when I have around but my overwhelming family needs never gave me a chance to build one. I had struggled to provide for my family which I could manage to meet after straining a lot doing casual jobs. My house small grass-thatched house got older and older thus started cracking and weak a situation that was becoming uncomfortable for me. I feel great having this new house courtesy of GiveDirectly."

"My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfer. I used to live in a small one-room grass-thatched house with a leaking roof. Due to this, we had no privacy as a family and during the rainy seasons, we were always forced to sleep in one corner. It had always been my dream to build a bigger and decent house but I had not been able to due to lack of finances. Renovating this house had also proved to be a difficult task due to overwhelming family needs. My transfers enabled me to build a spacious Iron-roofed house and kitchen for my family. I would have taken an eternity to achieve this but I thank God for leading GiveDirectly to our village."

"I have been able to construct a new house through this transfer. I was previously living in a grass thatched house but currently, I shelter in an iron roofed house. I also have some goats to keep and rear which I am expecting them to reproduce and have many of them. These will sort me out in case of any financial need. I also replaced the bedding with a new mattress and bed to sleep on comfortable unlike before when I was sleeping on mats and used rags."

"Had it not been the transfer from GiveDirectly, then I would still be living in my small grass thatched house. My life is currently different because I now live in an iron roofed house. I wouldn't have managed to buy any of these were it not for this financial support."
