"Receiving this money means that I will be able to construct a spacious and durable house. Currently, I live in a grass thatched house that is uncomfortable living in during rainy season as water seeps inside. Thanks to this transfer, I will have an iron roofed house at a cost of 300USD. Additionally, I intend to use 150USD to buy a dairy cattle that is on weaning process to supplement my family with milk in seasons to come. Lastly, I will use the remaining amount at my disposal to embark on agricultural farming of maize and sweet potatoes on an arable piece of land that I have."

"As a family, we have been struggling to build a house with iron-sheet roof so that we can collect rainwater. Unfortunately, the little income we get from our farming practices is inadequate to finance it. Hence, receiving this money means that we shall manage to build a new and better house primarily for collecting rainwater."

"We have been aspiring to build a house for my 3 growing boys. In our society, it is unacceptable for grown up boys to live under one roof with their parents. In case we are lucky to get the transfer, our ambition is to use Kenya Shillings 20,000 to finish the whole construction work. The remaining transfer, we will use to buy food and improve our house by buying furniture."

"Receiving this money means building a new house house. My current house's roof was blown away by strong winds, forcing me to seek shelter in my grandson's house. This has been my life for the past one year and I am not happy about it. Besides, I will purchase goats for rearing and sell them to generate income."

"I will use this money to build a three roomed iron roofed house at an approximate cost of $300. This will enable me to harvest rain water during rainy seasons hence a relief in having to walk 4 kilometers to the nearby water pan in search of water for domestic use. I will therefore have buy a 3000 litres water tank @ $180. I live in my one roomed hut with my 19 year old son. According to our culture, a grown up boy should not live under one roof with his parents but we got no option on this since I only engage in a small business of buying eggs and selling them at a profit and I use all the money I earn to buy food only, the reason why I have never afforded to build him his own house. I will also spend $300 to buy a dairy cow whose income from selling milk will supplement my daily income from my business."

"I do casual jobs such as roofing people's houses in villages and such jobs are unreliable. I therefore intend to buy two dairy cattle each costing $250. This will ensure consistent daily income since I will be supplying milk in the neighbourhood. I will then spend $350 to build a two roomed iron roofed house to ensure comfort to my visitors whenever they come around visiting since the one I currently live in is only one roomed"

"I have never been able to own a better house of my dream because of the difficulties I face in my life say, financial instability. This has forced me to live in a small house which is at the same time, it is used as a granary and a kitchen. Receiving this money means changing my livelihood to a better standard since my plan is to construct a spacious iron-roofed house for my family and I will spend my first transfer to do this. On the other hand, I plan to spend $350 to buy oxen plus an ox plough in order to expand my farming. This will mean food security for my family and hence, a better living."
