"In 2016, the roof of my house was brought down by a heavy whirlwind. I had no option but to rebuild the rooftop. This caused damage to my newly bought iron sheets. So, receiving this money means repairing my rooftop which usually leaks whenever it heavily rains."

I feel very disturb seeing my children at home and I don't have anything to do. When I receive this money ksh 60,000 will go to school fees and the remaining I will build a house for the children since we are still under one roof."

"To me, receiving this money means a chance for a better life. I have had a dream to buy a cow after selling the two I had five years ago to take care of my father's medication but I couldn't due to scarce resources. I am a masonry earning KES600 a day when I get some work and this isn't enough to take care of my personal basic needs and support my siblings. I believe having one again will mean an increase in my assets and I will rely on it for milk for my household consumption and sales to make an extra income thus I am planning to buy a cow worth KES30000 to start with. I wish to spend KES40000 to build an iron-roofed house and fully furnished. When I complete it I will be ready to marry and this will be my happiness since I will have a place to call home and share the comfort with my family. I am planning to invest KES20000 to invest in poultry farming since with egg production I will be able to meet my daily household needs thus save my earning for other incoming generating activities. I am planning to spend KES20000 on my personal basic needs mainly food and clothing."

"For a long time, I have wanted to build a house with an iron sheets roof. This will enable us to collect rainwater and also reduces the burden for my wife going to fetch water over long distances and also I can save at least Sh 600 a month which I always use to buy water.I have also sold most of my livestock to gather for my kids school fees .Therefore this transfer will help me acquire some other cattle and hence I can sell their young ones in future for my kids fee again."

"I have been replacing the roof of my house regularly, say after every 1 year because it's grass-thatched. This is so costly and I have wished to replace it with some iron sheets but this has never been possible due to lack of money. My children has been suffering from frequent colds since they are rained on especially during the rainy season. Receiving this money will mean good health to my family since I intend to spend utmost $400 of my transfers to have the roof replaced. The remaining amount will help me to buy oxen and an ox-plough to upscale my farming because as of now, I use a hoe. This will guarantee me more harvest and hence, food security to my household."
