"I wake up in the morning, take a shower and leave for training at the Kenya Youth Empowerment Program that starts at 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. After training I go meet up with my group members, or incase am called for any work I go attend to it. At night I chat with friends over phone, listen to music and can sleep at around 11:00pm. When I am free, I watch movies, listen to music, fetch water for people at a price, or go to our base to catch up with friends."

"The biggest hardship am facing in life is lack of proper source of income. I depend on sand harvesting which is seasonal. During rainy season, the level of water in the river rises and nobody can scoop sand as there is risk of drowning. Since I have no other way of getting money, it becomes very difficult to buy food, clothes and meet medical bills for my family."

"Water is a challenge in our area, and we mostly rely on pond water which is not safe for domestic use. I used a portion of the money to purchase a water tank for harvesting rainwater so that we can have a supply of safe water for the domestic use. Part of the money we spent on boosting our business by adding a variety of commodities that we were not stocking before. I'm happy the business is doing great and the income has increased. My daughter who was about to sit for her final secondary examination was sent back home for school fee so part of the money I paid for her school fee so that she could be allowed to sit for her examinations."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that my family no longer walk for a long distance to look for water for domestic use. It was hectic and both time and energy consuming fetching water to be used for the whole day. Aside from that, I won't be relying on the rain for farming because I can now irrigate my farm thus I expect to have an improved food supply for the family."

In the evening I spend some minutes walking to get clean tapped water for my household. I feel happy at this time knowing that my family has clean water for our domestic use."

"I will first put this monies into agricultural use. I have a project upcountry that I would love to start of rearing chicken and setting up avwater source that will help me in farming. This is a very lucrative business in the upcountry area as seen from my neighbors who have established their homes and lead a very comfortable life with income generated from these agricultural activities. I also want to explore the same avenue and improve myself and the life of my family. Secondly, I would set up a butchery business at Huruma area. A digital butchery is very beneficial and generates lots of income going by the fact that it deals with food and food business can never go wrong. This to to broaden my channels of income flow that will enable me meet my needs and fulfill my responsibilities with ease. Lastly, I will pay for my children their school since it is part of my responsibility. This will be different because I will do it with much ease and on time and prevent my children from being sent away due to school fees reasons."
