"Last month, we received heavy rains after a entire year of drought and famine. What brought joy and happiness to me is that my twenty goats that were almost dying due to lack of green pastures have now been salvaged and are very healthy. This is the only wealth that I have which I usually sell two or three goats to educate my children when they are sent home."

"I dropped out of school when I was in form three. I felt wasted especially on the thought that I had gone through three years of training only to fail to complete the final year. Nevertheless I was convinced by my parents that they could enroll me in a vocational training institute once they get cash from the sale of an acre of shamba but this never materialized (the cash received was spent on food and other things known by the parents). Currently, I keep my father's goats without a clear picture of what the future holds."

"I used to keep goats and chicken. I had to sell all the twenty goats due to prolonged drought. Currently, I only have a cock which survived. I intend to use the transfers in relaunching the livestock keeping practice. In every month, I will be buying one goat at 2000KES untill I get six goats. In addition I will spend 600KES from my first transfers to buy 3chicken. Having livestock in the compound will help me in times of need especially in paying school fees and food for my four children."

"Receiving this money will be of great assistance to me since I do not have any source of income. I am entirely dependent on my children who are also struggling in town to make ends meet for their families. I have always desired to start livestock and chicken farming that can help me in the future so I can also be independent but lack of capital has hindered me from achieving this. These transfers will however change that because I plan to buy a goat and chicken every month for one year. These animals will give me good wealth in the future when they start to multiply and I will not have to depend anymore on my children for support."

"Paying school fees for my children is the biggest burden that I have. This money will therefore go a long way in helping me pay for their fees. I have one child in college, one in secondary school and four in primary school. This clearly shows how much of a burden I have. The first and second transfers(9,000 KES) will fully go into paying school fees. Beginning from the third transfer, I will start investing more in goat farming. I currently have 3 goats and I would like to add more as a long term investment to the education of my children."

"My parents are really struggling to pay my school fees. This money will provide an opportunity for me to support them so that they can concentrate on my younger siblings. I am the third born in a family of six. Through poultry farming, I believe I can start increasing my income to a point that I can upgrade to goat farming. That is my long term plan. I started poultry farming but due to financial challenges it has become difficult to advance. This is because I cannot get enough chicken feeds or vaccination to ensure that they multiply and stay healthy. My plan is therefore to invest in the construction of a poultry unit then add more chicken and ensure they get enough feeds and vaccination. I will start this immediately when I receive my first transfer of 3,000 KES."

"I have desired to invest in livestock farming, especially goats because it is the only I save my money and earn a profit after I sell them when they multiply. Another advantage of goat farming is that goats survive better in drought situations compared to cows. I, therefore, intend to start with 10 goats which will cost KES 30,000. I further use KES 40000 to extend my house with two rooms because the current house I reside in is small (one roomed house) and is not spacious enough to accommodate my family of 5 children. The remaining amount will be invested in my children's educational needs."

"Receiving this money means access to basic education for my children. I have a family of 5 children. Four in primary school and one in secondary school. Raising these children has been very tough for me. I usually depend on the charcoal burning business which earns me less than KES 2000 per month. My husband is doing casual jobs in town that are not predictable. I will use KES 55,000 to clear the school fees balance and buy other educational requirements like books and school uniforms. This will give my children an opportunity to settle in school and hence good performance. I have also desired to invest in livestock farming because it is the only way I can save my money to earn a profit after I sell them when they multiply. I, therefore intend to start with 10 goats which will cost me KES 30,000."

"I normally happy whenever it's a peak season for my husband's business. The last time we experience this was in the month of December last year during festive season. He made good sales and organized good Christmas celebrations for us. We slaughtered a goat and enjoyed as a family. This was best times I can't forget because it brought everyone together."

"Receiving this money will be a great help to me because I am in a financial crisis. I am a housewife and I depend on my spouse who is a motorcycle taxi. We bought this motorcycle on credit in December. I will use KES 50,000 to clear the loan. I have also desired to invest in goat farming because goats survive best in dry seasons. I intend to start with 10 goats for KES 30000. The remaining amount will cater to other household expenses like food."
