"My children are about to begin school life this term. I was not able to complete my primary education as my parents could not afford to pay for my school fees. It was sad but it was a lesson I learned. Receiving this money means using 30,000 KES to start animal keeping that is three she-goats and a cow will be my start. I will let them keep multiplying by the time my children are about to join secondary school I will sell them to pay their school fees for the entire four years of school, it is something that I have longed to achieve and it is like God has approved it for me."

"I have 2 children who are still in primary school and I desire to see them excel in their studies. This means creating a good environment for their learning. Currently, they face some challenges including lack of school fees as well as unfavorable lighting at home for their night studies. With these transfers, I plan to buy a solar panel as a source of light to help them to have enough light at home during their night studies, and this will directly help them to improve their performances. On the other hand, I will also invest heavily in livestock, especially goats which breed faster. This will enable me to stand a good chance of supporting them once they join secondary school. Thus, improving education for my children is what receiving this money means to me."

"I live in a grass-thatched single room which is in a pathetic condition. When it rains it leaks. As we speak I have been building a two-room house which is not complete as I lack money to buy iron sheets for the roof. Receiving this money means spending 40,000 KES to buy iron sheets, roofing nails and paying the mason. I will use the remaining amount to buy goats and pay school fees for my last born child who is in secondary school."

"I have desired for a long time to own goats but all my efforts have been fruitless as every penny that I get I spend all on food and medication for my husband who paralysed legs after falling from a coconut tree while tapping palm wine. Receiving this money means spending 16,000 KES to buy four goats so that they can help me during emergencies in future. I learnt a lesson after my husband had the accident and I did not have any project for such emergencies. I will use the remaining amount of transfer on food, and medication for my husband and pay school fees for my children."

"My well-being will greatly depend on the money I will be receiving. I am 77 years retired old man with 5 children. I have no source of income to support the family. My wife is the breadwinner. I am intending to use 10,000 KES of the transfers to buy goats. With goat keeping, I will be able to take care of myself through the income I will be making. The income will also supplement the household's income for our general welfare."

"I became the sole breadwinner of a 5 member family after my husband retired. My occupation is not lucrative. Community health volunteering earns me 3,000 KES a month. Education and food being the most demanding needs in my household, sustaining the family with such a little income is impossible. My ambition is to supplement my income through livestock production. Goat-keeping will be the best alternative to improve the welfare of my family. Already having 5 goats, I am planning to add another 5 at a total cost of 15,000 KES. My herd will be enlarging year by year. With a butchery nearby, I will have a ready market for goat meat. The income I will be making from selling goats will help in providing for my family."

"Receiving this money means employment to me. Since 2018, I have constantly admired being a teacher. Having other young siblings still schooling, my parents have been unable to take me to college because they cannot match the tuition fees owing to their little income. With the first 3 transfers, I will buy 5 goats. Livestock production will help in raising my school fees. I will ensure the animals are well managed for a faster productivity rate. Once they are plentiful, I will start selling them and use the income to enroll in a 2-year teaching course. Immediately after I graduate, I will easily secure employment."

"In February, I reaped plenty of what I had been working for for the past three years. I came back home from Mombasa and left-back my husband to focus on livestock raising. I started with a goat and soon they gave birth, when I had about 10 goats I exchanged them for two cows and I diligently raised them. At the beginning of this year (February) I sold the two cows for 60000 KES and I was able to buy piles of stones for my four-roomed house. I got stuck in my building project three years ago and I was overjoyed when I was able to make this step."

"Investment is what comes to mind when I think of this money, everything has a beginning and an end and so my priority is to buy at least four goats and raise them and by the time this program comes to an end, I will not be worried since I will have the goats as my assets. The first 16,000 KES I will receive after saving the money will go towards this project. The next project will be to build a one-room structure to act as my kitchen. At the moment I do not have a kitchen, where we live acts as the kitchen too. I oversee it will cost me about 30000 KES, my plan is to save 2000 KES for the same and the remaining 1000 KES will go towards food."

"I plan to pay school fees for my three children and one grandchild who is in primary school. I would like for them to study to the level they would wish. I will set aside 1000 KES every month to go towards their fees, another 1000 KES for food, and the remaining 1,000 will be for livestock. I will be saving up the 1000 KES so that I can buy around six goats which will cost 18000 KES and six cows which will cost 36000 KES. I will be fulfilled once I accomplish this."
